Elkridge-Harford Hunt Pony Club: A Rich History

Based in northern Baltimore and Harford County, Elkridge-Harford Hunt Pony Club has a rich history that dates back to 1934, when the Taylor Pony Club was established to help local children develop horsemanship skills.

Over time, the Taylor Pony Club grew and eventually morphed into the Baltimore-Harford Pony Club, whose members included all children in the Elkridge-Harford and Greenspring Hunt areas. The Baltimore-Harford Pony Club was actually part of the British Pony Club. By 1953, there were enough pony clubs in the U.S. to prompt the founding of the United States Pony Club, and the Baltimore-Harford Pony Club was divided into two clubs, one of which is Elkridge-Harford Hunt Pony Club.

We are proud to say that Elkridge-Harford Hunt Pony Club is the oldest local club in the United States Pony Club.
